Migros has a higher profit margin than Coop

Migros hat die grössere Gewinnspanne als Coop

As Migros often relies on products/raw materials from further afield, it makes much more profit than Coop, for example, where the raw materials come from closer to home. I wonder what happens to all the profit and why Migros doesn't act more sustainably? In addition, all the organic raw materials that Migros mainly uses are only EU-BIO-certified (if at all?) and not Bud-certified (according to the Bio Suisse guidelines) as is the case with Coop. However, these requirements have a significant impact on the environment as a whole! Migros simply sells us a worse organic product than one of equal quality.

There are some examples in the forum, e.g. here: https://community.migros.ch/m/Forum-Migipedia/MIGROS-VS-COOP/m-p/547882#M25594
