Migros Brunaupark, "problems" with Migros employees

Migros Brunaupark, "Probleme" mit Migros-Mitarbeitenden

Dear Migros

We often shop at Migros Brunaupark, and we have noticed the following several times (if not every day or every time):

At Migros Brunau - usually in the late afternoon or shortly before closing time - cakes, pastries, tarts and other sweet pastries that are due to expire on the same day and have not yet been sold are discounted by 50% and marked with the corresponding orange stickers. I think that's a really great thing! What I honestly find anything but great as a customer, however, is that these cakes etc. are sorted out in advance by the employees into a gray box and then provided with the corresponding discount stickers. Instead of putting these cakes etc. back in the rack so that customers can buy them, other Migros employees help themselves to them first; either the employee who is discounting the cakes etc. shares them with other employees, or the employee who is discounting them shares them with other employees. either tells other employees beforehand or during the process that he/she is doing the same and that they should help themselves from the gray box; or another employee asks the employee who is reducing the price of the cakes etc. to put this or that cake etc. to one side or leave it in the gray box and take it back to the store because he/she wants this cake etc.
I've already politely approached these employees several times and told them that I don't think it's okay for customers to have to watch how employees are passing on discounted cakes etc. to each other. Unfortunately, I always got a rather snotty response (unfortunately, it was always younger employees who did the above); either they said it was none of my business, or I was told that there were plenty of other cakes etc., or that it was always done that way...

I don't know the ins and outs of Migros, and I have no idea how Migros deals with its own staff in terms of benefits, etc. So far, I have only observed the behavior described above at Migros Brunaupark; in other Migros branches, cakes, salads, etc. are also discounted by 50%, but I have never seen any employee there who gives these discounted items to other employees in advance or helps themselves to them, etc. On the contrary, the cakes, etc. are discounted and then immediately put back on the rack so that customers can buy them. From this, I assume that Migros handles this in the same way everywhere, namely that the discounted goods must be made available to customers, and not that Migros employees help themselves to them beforehand (and while the store is still open)... I think it's totally fine for the unsold discounted goods to be given to employees as gifts or at a discount after closing time - as long as this is done. While the store is open, however, I don't think the behavior described above towards customers is okay.
