Does Migros intend to give up mentioning the grams of pure sugar in products (in addition to the carbohydrate mention) as the law has allowed since January 1, 2017?
If so, I'll be boycotting these products in solidarity with diabetics and anyone else who cares about their health.

As a rule, Migros products already carry a nutritional label that mentions the sugar content. This refers not only to added granulated sugar, but also to sugar from other sources (e.g. lactose from milk or fructose and glucose from fruit, depending on the product). The new legal provisions do not fundamentally change the current practice governing nutrition labelling on Migros products. Best regards, Tabi

What worries me in your answer is "CURRENT practice", what about the future?
Another department store chain told me that sugar was not compulsory, and that it would only be mentioned in the ingredients, without the grammage, and that you only had to ask the product manufacturer if you wanted more details about the sugar content. Can you imagine that for all the products in a basket!
The new law on foodstuffs improves indications for allergy sufferers, but leaves out diabetics, who have a serious illness and are becoming more and more numerous.
This is a scandal where everyone should react and not buy products where the grams of sugar are no longer mentioned, thus showing that these indications are important for EVERYONE, young and old, ill or not, and thus demonstrating the power of the consumer-boycotter!
By the way, what are the reasons behind this change in the law, not our good health in any case? Can Migros shed some light on the subject?
Yes, that's really scandalous. I don't quite understand, the sugar content was listed and will no longer be?

Migros is not changing the declaration of the sugar content of its products. The nutritional values will continue to be indicated as they are now.Best regards,Tabi
I'm very happy that Migros will continue to print the grams of sugar, because Lidl doesn't do it (anymore?) on many of its products, and diabetics will no longer be able to buy them. It's a shame to cut yourself off from an important part of your clientele...
