I really enjoy eating the M-Classic freshly baked pretzel (unfortunately I can't find it here on Migipedia). As I want to change my diet next year and am planning to go vegan, I would be interested to know whether this pastry is vegan.

I haven't bought M-Classic pretzels for a long time, but I'm pretty sure that they're not vegan.
As I am a baker, I can tell you that pretzel dough is usually similar to Weggli dough. It therefore contains milk or milk powder and butter.
Butter is often replaced by margarine, but the milk is still there.

Ingredients: Wheat flour*, water, sunflower oil, yeast, SKIMMED MILK POWDER, WHEAT PROTEIN, iodized table salt, MILK SUGAR, emulsifier: E 472, acidity regulator: sodium hydroxide, MALT FLOUR FROM BARLEY, flour treatment agent: ascorbic acid.
*IP-SUISSE quality
May contain sesame, soy, eggs, nuts.
Then: Nothing vegan!

The information from Istanbul is completely correct. The pretzels are not vegan.
We have the following vegan bread alternatives in our range:
- Organic wholemeal rye bread
- Organic pumpernickel
- Alnatura protein bread (only available in large stores)
