MANIA'S

MANIA'S

Dear Migros managers
I really appreciate Migros and its whole concept and enjoy shopping at Migros. Many products are indispensable for us as a family and I also think the cumulus system is great!
What bothers me are these MANIAs. I'm the mother of two children and we've always collected them because the kids loved them, of course. I understand that Migros can collect sympathy points from young customers. But I think it's a shame that they don't promote sustainability here, that they don't set an example for our children. Our children, like us adults, have far too many consumer goods and with these MANIA'S, there are even more unnecessary ones. I would like to see MANIA'S that exemplify sustainability or MANIA'S where we collect together for a social project, help poor children and instead of carrying home even more plastic products or cuddly toys that nobody needs. Let's collect together with our children for something meaningful, THANK YOU.

Dear Rahel

Migros is one of the most sustainable retailers in the world.
This is both a distinction and an obligation. For over 10 years, Migros has been committed to improving working conditions at suppliers as part of the implementation of the BSCI social standard. All Migros partners are obliged to comply with minimum social requirements. Naturally, this also includes the producers of the Mania articles.

The collectible elements of the Christmas promotion are high-quality play items that provide unlimited fun. The collectibles are designed to be used over a longer period of time and should not be disposed of at the end of the promotion.

Kind regards Babette

Dear Migipedia community and community team,

@rahel-baumann o.k. I'm with you on sustainability, social projects yes for all I care, can certainly make sense. On the condition that you do something here in Switzerland because 75% of our taxes already go out of Switzerland 3 out of 4 francs remain 25% for Switzerland then do something here. Please guarantee that it goes to the right place. When I once heard that organizations had evaded money, I no longer donate anything. By the way, children don't only have a bad time at Christmas.

Hello Mystery1978

It is, of course, extremely important to us that donations are used correctly and benefit people in need in full.

For this reason, Migros made donations last year to the aid organizations Caritas, HEKS, Pro Juventute, Pro Senectute and Winterhilfe Schweiz, all of which are committed to supporting people in need. Their aid goes entirely to people in need in Switzerland.

@Sebastian_Migros Let's get back to the topic. You could deduct a certain amount from the manias. Would make sense because.

- Manias are available more than 1 time a year

- customers donate without being forced to do so

- as already mentioned, certain people also feel bad when it's "not Christmas".

It would be a win-win situation.
Children have fun with the Manias
Those who are not so well off are better off.

I still have to think about the environmental protection part.

Why don't you ask if this could somehow become a Swiss pilot Sebi.

Lg @Mystery1978

That's right @Bodenseeknusperli @rahel-baumann didn't get a real answer. And thanks for the info @Bodenseeknusperli I thought it was really a 100% donation for others (naive and gullible of me). If I donate then not directly via e-banking or by post. Swiss Solidarity once withdrew several 100'000 .- according to my memory a few years ago. Good thing I don't like chocolate.

Lg @Mystery1978

What if the customer could choose between Mania or having the points credited as a donation?

I don't have children and find Mania unnecessary plastic stuff, which is why I don't collect them for anyone else. But I think it would be nice if I could also support something good with my shopping at Migros.
So the value of the Manias I would collect would be donated to an organization in Switzerland.

I think it's a good idea - as you know, MIGROS belongs to EVERYONE.... ;-)So it would be fair if Migros asked its members whether they approve of this kind of marketing at all? And I think it would be good if you could decide at the checkout whether you want to "collect" or "donate" the equivalent amount to a charitable organization, as suggested below/above, instead of the collected goods... What do you Migrölers think? :-)

Dear Migipedia community and community team

@Supertrooper I also find the plastic not really so good thing, and just put it if you like it but otherwise plush what you like the rest I pass on there. I have buyers for plush. So you mean "either donate or Mania?"

If that were the case and mothers with children want Mania for their kids, but also want to donate, then they're not really happy. Mania's amount can be deducted. Win-win.

If such a system is introduced, you can put your Mania back in the rack or give it to mothers or someone else. WE donate, WE do something good for others.

"Migros belongs to the people"

@Bodenseeknusperli that's a great idea. I hadn't thought that far ahead. I don't shop at Volg, or only very rarely. That's why I didn't know about it. Yes, I'm in favor of it. To make it even clearer, you could still stick them on the cards.

If it works for surveys and competitions, it should also work for Mania cards. You could also separate it cleanly....

Anyone who wants Manias should hand in full cards at the cash desk as before. Then there could also be other carts on which you can stick the stickers with 5=10 stickers or so, which are then donated and put in the urn at customer service

Hello @rahel-baumann

It took a little while, but the people in charge of Mania wrote me back the following:

"Thank you very much for your great interest and enthusiasm for Migros. We are happy to take your idea on board for internal review.

Migros is the most sustainable retailer in the world. This is both a distinction and an obligation, and we always try to act sustainably as far as possible. All Migros partners are obliged to meet high standards. In cooperation with the promotion agency PPI Worldwide, we have selected reliable producers who meet the high requirements for Migros (third-party) partners and comply with ICTI (BSCI) standards.

The collectible elements of the Christmas promotion are high-quality game items that provide unlimited fun. The collectibles are intended to be used over a longer period of time and should not be disposed of after the end of the promotion."

Have a great day.
