M-Restaurants : White chipboard or plexiglass to separate the guests ?

M-Restaurants : Weisse Spanplatten oder Plexiglas als Trennschutz zwischen den Gästen ?

In eastern Switzerland, white chipboard or almost man-high chipboard stands are placed on the partition furniture. These do not let daylight through and unnecessarily darken the rooms, as the spotlights have usually not been adjusted accordingly. Everything looks loveless and at first glance you can sense what is probably an eternal temporary solution... In Central Switzerland - which belongs to the Lucerne Regional Cooperative - everything is much brighter and more inviting and you don't feel this oppressiveness because all the dividing elements are made of Plexiglas. This also makes the restaurants appear brighter and more open and not as oppressive as in Eastern Switzerland... As we will probably have to live with this particular situation for some time to come, the question can be asked: Is the Regional Cooperative of Eastern Switzerland also considering replacing these dreary chipboard panels with Plexiglas to make the restaurant rooms more inviting ?

Hello Tessin, thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I have great news for you in this regard: The dark times are over. The light-colored dividing elements you told us about are also being introduced in Eastern Switzerland. They are already in use in Herblingen, where the restaurant has just opened. If all goes well, we will have fitted the rest of the restaurants with them at the beginning of November and removed the white stretch panels. Kind regards, Tabea.
