Since I am always logged in, it is not relevant for me, but I prefer to enter "Istanbul" as a user than one of my e-mail addresses, because instead of 8 letters I would have to enter 14 characters with the shortest one. On iPad you are better off with a simple name!

@Istanbul: If you don't log in that often, the e-mail address is simply what you don't forget so quickly. The user name is certainly easier to enter, especially on a smartphone.
