Plastic handle instead of metal

Kunststoffhenkel anstatt Metall

I have various sizes of frying pans from the Greenpan ceramic frying pan range. As the largest one, 28cm, is slowly losing its non-stick properties, I wanted to buy a new one. They are currently on 50% off. Now I discovered that the metal handle is now made of rubber/plastic and no longer metal. I can't understand this, because even Migros has now realized that any plastic that can be avoided must be avoided for environmental reasons. You don't burn yourself, so why is the handle now made of plastic?
I will no longer be buying these pans.
Thank you
