I picked up 1 kohlrabi at Migros last Friday. It tasted very sweet. Why is that? I stored this kohlrabi in the fridge, as I always do when I buy kohlrabi at Migros.

Hello Michi2000, we procure the kohlrabi regionally. For our clarifications, we need the purchasing branch and more detailed information. Have you taken a photo of the label? Best regards, Noemi

Bought in Migros Unterentfelden. Label no longer available
After 5 minutes of googling: The cultivation method has a major influence on the taste. Kohlrabi plants grown outdoors generally taste stronger and spicier. When grown under glass or foil, on the other hand, they develop a milder, sweeter taste. In addition, when it gets frost, starch is converted into sugar. This makes the kohlrabi sweeter. I hope this answer helps you :)
