My idea is as follows: You can buy plastic food bowls for dogs and cats. I would find it extremely practical if these could be fitted with a lid to keep them fresh, as with the Topline range. The smell of wet food in particular is not always very pleasant and the leftovers always have to be poured back into the bowl or tin. It would also have the advantage that the uneaten bowls could be stacked in the fridge in a tiptop-line manner until the next use :-)

I would find your idea quite practical, because I also have a cat who likes to leave leftovers - or rather: ALWAYS - leftovers :( I can fill as little wet food in the bowl, a decent amount always remains... ;P
However, I'm afraid that my cat - if I put the wet food away for him for later - won't eat his leftovers even then. - ONLY because it's not fresh from the can/bag *heeeeul*
I make it so that I lay a small multi-purpose bag flat on the floor for him. I then place the water bowl and dry food bowl on the sides. Then I simply put the wet food on this bag. This way he eats "almost" everything and I can easily dispose of the leftovers ;) Because he wouldn't eat it anyway :( ... Male diva behavior makes my mistress inventive :P
