We have just been on vacation in Italy and went shopping at a wholesaler (Iper Orvea). There the receipts are printed on the front and back. In my opinion, this has the following advantages:
Please check whether this could also be an option for Migros. The reverse side printed with company logos is probably not given too much attention these days.

I would welcome more if the customer is asked if they want a receipt. In this day and age with technology (and online receipts) this should be possible.

Most cash register receipts are created with a thermal printer, so it is not possible to print on both sides. Thermal paper discolors when exposed to heat, so double-sided printing (in the cash register printer) is not possible on such paper.
In order to be able to print on both sides of receipts, ink would have to be used and therefore more expensive printers would have to be used. Ink cartridges can clog, leak and have a limited shelf life. The printer also requires regular maintenance and trained staff. All of this incurs costs that you don't have with thermal printers or can at least reduce them considerably.
An alternative would be the digital receipt, which the cash register sends as a file to the cell phone or a PayBill stick. Some stores and markets already offer this option. If you want a physical receipt, you can get one at the till or print it out yourself at the service point.

Thank you for your suggestion. I would also find it practical if we could shorten the receipts in this way ;-).
I assume that relatively complex technical changes would have to be made to our cash register system for this, as this option has not existed up to now. I'll pass the idea on immediately so that those responsible can check it out.
