"We promise to reduce the overall environmental impact of the packaging of the 250 best-selling products by 10% by 2013."
This promise was not fulfilled: https://generation-m.migros.ch/de/versprechen/umweltbelastung-von-verpackungen.html
"Migros will of course continue to optimize its packaging on an ongoing basis. It wants to further reduce the amount of packaging in the coming years and convert the paper and cardboard packaging of Migros' own industrial companies to recycled or FSC-certified material."
The new promise: "We promise to ecologically optimize over 6000t of packaging material by the end of 2020."
Promise is not on track: https://generation-m.migros.ch/de/versprechen/verpackungen.html
It is possible to use cardboard packaging made from recycled fibers:
"Coop is the first Swiss retailer to offer all of its own-brand rice products in packaging made from 100% recycled cardboard."
This saves Coop around 178 tons of virgin fibre cardboard every year: http://www.coop.ch/content/act/de/taten-statt-worte/tat-nr--348.html
What about Migros' cardboard packaging, is it also made from 100% recycled fibers?
Wouldn't that be a good way to get the promise back on track?
