Unfortunately, it is still very difficult for vegetarians to buy cheese without animal rennet. Why is it not indicated in the ingredients which rennet is used?

Unfortunately, this is not only the case at Migros, but also at Coop, Volg, etc. There is no obligation to indicate this in Switzerland, which is why I usually buy cheese in Germany, because it also says whether it is microbial or not (but not everywhere). It would actually be desirable if every cheese sold in Switzerland (no matter where) stated whether the rennet was microbial or from animals.
Hello Ch92, thank you for your message. We understand your concern and will add a corresponding note to the packaging of cheeses produced with microbial rennet in the future. This information will also be available in the product information that is displayed online. However, the changeover to this new, transparent type of declaration will take some time, especially when it comes to adapting the packaging. Until then (and afterwards), you can also refer to our information sheet "Dairy products without animal rennet". Here is the link: https://www.migros.ch/de/services/kundendienst/fachstelle-ernaehrung/merkblaetter.html Best regards, Richi

Just as it is in Germany, it should also be introduced here. Helps many people and also makes the choice easier for many
