So I wonder why Migros sells (its own Frey) chocolate that is still wrapped in aluminum? I am very surprised.

Probably has something to do with the insulation! High-quality, creamy and chocolates with Kirsch, Williams and Cognac are wrapped in aluminum foil!

The reason for the aluminum foil is actually that it protects the chocolate even better than plastic foil. This is mainly because aluminum is less translucent.
We are also interested in acting as ecologically as possible and want to continuously improve.

It is no longer so clear which material has the better eco-balance for the wrapping of sheets; there are studies that define one or the other as the "winner". The fact is, however, that aluminum clearly has the better barrier and product protection properties.
Which materials are used for which products is based on technical circumstances.
Depending on the packaging method (size of the paper wrap or the cardboard case) and, above all, depending on the machine, only certain wrapping materials can be used.
