Caught in the trap!

In die Falle getappt!

At the beginning of the week, I always make a note of the promotions in the Migros magazine that interest me, including the following offer this week: Magenbrot 250 g (price-performance winner, by the way; see http://goo.gl/mF4MCR) at half price. Today, Thursday (double Cumulus), I go shopping. Shortly after entering the store, just after the fruit & vegetables, the pink bags are already smiling at me, at eye level on a special stand far away from the shelf where the Magenbrot is normally found. It goes without saying that a packet of this delicacy ends up in my shopping basket straight away. When I get home, I'm disillusioned: the Magenbrot is charged at full price. I immediately want to tear out the MM page to make a complaint. Then I notice that the offer is not listed under the weekly promotions, which are valid from Tuesday, but under "Autumn Weekend", valid on Friday and Saturday.

Well, dear Migros: if, for whatever reason, you want to attract customers to your stores with special promotions, preferably at the weekend, then you can do so. But please make sure that items that are on offer at a special price that week are placed prominently when the promotion is running. If I don't pay enough attention to the time limit of promotions, I'll take the blame. However, if the goods are presented in a special stand in the same week but outside the promotional period, then I feel like I'm being lured into a trap. Nobody should tell me that this is pure coincidence and not intended! And a warning to all forum visitors: if you have seen a special offer in the press, please always check very carefully in the store to see if the item in question is marked as reduced! For my part, I would like to have a more relaxed shopping experience, but it seems that today's consumers have to be prepared for such clever tricks at every turn. Such experiences are certainly not conducive to basic trust in a supplier.
