repeatedly crushed packaging: Alnatura Amaranth Rice Drink
immer wieder zerdrückte Verpackungen: Alnatura Amaranth Reis Drink
I like to buy the Alnatura Amaranth Rice Drink at Migros/Alnatura in Winterhtur, article number 2000029061, EAN 4104420145221
For several months now, I have noticed that the packaging is constantly dented.
Of course I didn't buy these dented packs, but it's inconvenient when I have to laboriously search the rack for a pack that isn't dented.
When I once caught a dented pack and only noticed it at home, I sent a photo to Tetrapack Switzerland so that I could get a risk assessment. Tetrapack Switzerland said: "In principle, there is a risk that the corner on the underside has been compressed so much that the support carton has punctured the inner polyethylene layer. The product will then not leak outwards, but there could be/be an infection on the inside. I estimate the risk to be < 25%. If this were the case, the pack will bloat in the next few days (keep an eye on it!) and you would have to dispose of it."
In September 2016, I reported the problem to Alnatura Germany and the store manager Daniel Bürgin. I asked the sales staff to please sort out the dented packaging.
Mr. Bürgin told me at the time that he would still sell the crushed packaging as there were consumers who would still buy it.
Now I have found several crushed and even soiled packages again today. This time there was even a bloated package in the rack where the contents were dripping out!
As mentioned above, bloated packaging must be disposed of immediately. It is irresponsible to offer them for sale to customers. Consuming such bloated packaging leads to food intoxication, which manifests itself as nausea and/or diarrhea. Children, pregnant women and the elderly are particularly at risk.
I asked Mr. Bürgin, the Migros/Alnatura store manager, again today and showed him the bloated, dirty and crushed packaging.
The joke is that all other Alnatura drinks such as almond, oat drink etc. are not affected, only the Alntura amaranth rice drink packaging is constantly crushed.
Now Mr. Bürgin told me that he constantly receives broken packaging, that he always reports this, but that nothing happens and there is nothing he can do.
What is going on with Migros? Does Migros have no internal guidelines for solving such problems?
I shudder when the consumer is exposed to the risk of food intoxication and nobody is responsible for it, and even repeated interventions are of no use and even the store manager is at a loss?
I hope that someone from the Migipedia community/manager can forward my request to a suitable body so that Mr. Bürgin, and above all the consumers of Migros/Alnatura, finally get the chance to have flawless and hygienic packaging delivered and on the shelves again. Surely it is unacceptable that Alnatura Germany is constantly supplying packaging to Switzerland that could pose a health risk to customers?
