I heard about the Ice Tea competition on 20 Minuten, you can win a trip with the codes that are stuck on the Pet bottles. Personally, I think it's unfair as I only buy the large cartons and it's the same product. To be honest, I don't want to pay more just to get a Pet bottle with less content. I also know a lot of people who take the 1 liter cartons with them on the go, which works well with the new closure, but why aren't the codes printed on these cartons as well?

In my opinion this is unfair competition! It's not free with the postcard!
"In Switzerland, there is a comprehensive ban on linking participation in a competition with a purchase or a service, regardless of whether the participant is a consumer or an entrepreneur, as every service - including the purchase of a product or service - represents a stake and therefore leads to it being classified as a game of chance. According to the Swiss UWG, tying is generally unfair.
As a result, the organization of a competition - including on the Internet - is only permissible if participation is free of charge, i.e. participation is possible without the conclusion of a legal transaction. Ultimately, this means that it must always be possible to participate in competitions free of charge under the same conditions. The ban on tying in Switzerland also applies if participation is restricted to entrepreneurs."

I have looked into the issue with our legal service. We can assure you that this is not unfair competition. The cost of sending the postcard is not considered a stake within the meaning of the Lottery Act, but is a cost of transmission ("transportation costs"). This is a normal expense (as if you had to go to the store to buy the iced tea) and the participant is not promised a prize "in return" for this service. The participant is theoretically free to put the postcard in the competition organizer's letterbox personally and without a stamp.
