At the moment, Spanish strawberries are back in the range in practical wooden crates.
If you like strawberries, you'll have quite a few of these crates at home in no time. Not everyone has an oven where they can burn them. What do you do with these crates? Does Migros take them back like the old glass? Couldn't they be used several times? Who has an idea for a second use?

Simply type in "reuse strawberry crates" and you will find countless pictures and craft instructions, from which you can choose what suits you best.

Thank you for your reference. I don't want to tinker with these boxes, but I would like to find out how they can be disposed of or reused. Migros has not thought this through to the end: when I buy goods, I can leave the packaging in the store for disposal if I want to. This is more difficult with fruit!

I'm sorry if I misunderstood your original question.
Migros does not actually take back this wooden packaging, it can simply be disposed of in the household waste.
As a spontaneous alternative, I can think of community centers that offer craft courses and craft afternoons where you can work with different materials, including recycled objects. Perhaps there is a community center near where you live and the boxes can be recycled there?

You can dispose of it at the collection point: In our Déchetterie* you can dispose of aluminum, batteries/rechargeable batteries, electrical/electronic devices, glass, wood, inert waste, cardboard, fluorescent tubes (neon, LED), metal, Nespresso capsules, paper, tires, Sagex, textiles/shoes and bulky combustible waste (furniture).

Have a Tiba wood stove; would burn the boxes if untreated! ?

I think Migros should also find a solution here! The boxes would be super reusable and much better than the plastic packaging. But disposing of them doesn't really make sense!
Migros offers the product like almost all retailers in Europe.
I don't think Migros has a duty to take the box back.
I see Migros as having a duty here. And for many reasons: Responsibility for environmental protection, sustainability, pioneering role and customer friendliness, to name but a few. Migros generates billions in sales, so it has financial opportunities that exceed ours. This is where we need to start: Gathering ideas, improvement efforts and proactive trend research and implementation.
If Migros does not assume its responsibility - for whatever reason - e.g. because it has not yet recognized it (and I am defending it, like a small child who is not yet so aware of the connections), then the customers, who already have more knowledge, must act accordingly.
So ultimately it is up to us customers to stop buying these foreign strawberries in wooden crates.

Migros has once again missed out on a change in thinking among the population. You are simply too slow, despite money en masse. Does Migros actually look at what's happening around the world? Have you noticed what environmental pollution is threatening us? You belong to the earth, just like us customers.
But why rethink when customers are still buying your products? "After me, the deluge"?
Migros has a huge responsibility. And one that extends further than it probably realizes. I'm curious to see when this realization will "take hold".
Addendum: I am strict... with Migros, and/or also with myself. Bring the critics to the table, on board and discuss your and their concerns. Find ways to improve together, the nagging will not end... Seize the opportunity (without GfK, marketing experts & co.). And if you're already doing this, I'd be happy to hear from you.
