Elderberry syrup

Holundersirup

Hello everyone

There are about three different elderflower syrups to choose from in our store. Unfortunately, there is no elderberry syrup. I love elderberry syrup. The syrup is not as sweet and yet has a more intense flavor. It can be enjoyed cold or warm, which means it can be consumed all year round. It tastes very refreshing cold. Hot, it warms you up in the cold season. In addition to its excellent taste, it is also said to help strengthen the immune system.

I used to dismiss elderberry syrup as an old-fashioned concoction that grandma would pour when she was ill. Years later, I am now a real fan of the syrup. The syrup from the farm is great, of course, but I rarely get there. So it would be great to be able to buy it in the Migros range too.

Why do you think elderberry syrup has disappeared from all the shelves? Does it have too old-fashioned an image?

Kind regards
Your Tryeen

Dear @Tryeen

Thank you for your suggestion. You're right, I never noticed that before. Perhaps many people felt like you, that they actually dismissed it as a bit old-fashioned and didn't even recognize its true qualities?

I'll be happy to pass on your input and ask the people responsible for the range. Now I'm wondering too ;-) I'll let you know when I have any news.

Best regards

Good morning @Tryeen

I received feedback from the product range event, to which I forwarded your suggestion. New flavors are always being tested, especially for syrup, and every now and then we carry out our crowdsourcings, such as in January.

There hasn't been much demand for elderberries so far, so unfortunately there are no plans to introduce them at the moment. However, your suggestion has been noted and I would like to thank you for your suggestion.

Maybe this is something for you in the meantime?

It's still fairly new and I think I'll buy it to try on the way home today.

All I can say is: if you add elderberry syrup to your range, you'll be closing a real gap in the market!
We love it hot (especially the hot version as punch) and if I haven't got around to making it myself, I'll be lucky if I find it at a bazaar "or something"!
