A good idea, but executed terribly—Migros marketing at its finest

Gut gedacht und grottenschlecht gemacht - das Migros Marketing, wie es leibt und lebt

I don't like it when companies wish me a happy birthday. I see it as an invasion of my privacy. Give me some space, Migros.

But it’s not as if it were enough that Migros is violating my privacy without permission. No, once again, they’re doing it in a completely stupid way.

They’re giving me a coupon for a Risoletto. So far, so good. But… can I redeem it online as an online customer? No. What about at my local Migros? No. Seriously? You’re giving me something I can’t redeem? Because you don’t make it available everywhere? And it doesn’t even occur to you that this is a stupid idea? Or that you could actually check where I usually shop and maybe give me a voucher for something I can actually redeem?

Migros, Migros, who comes up with such stupid ideas? If you can’t do it, you’re better off not doing it at all—because this just earns you another minus point. Or better yet: Do it better. If you’re unsure, feel free to call me—I’d be happy to help you avoid your next misstep.
