We know our suppliers and we know how they produce. In addition to the legal requirements, Migros has introduced the winter garden (covered, weather-protected fresh air area) as standard for barn rearing. From our point of view, it would also be desirable to process only free-range eggs. However, in view of the current egg shortage (CH, EU), it is unfortunately not possible to switch at the moment. Why then always resort to unacceptable variants? Migros could be a good pioneer in this respect and explain to customers why there is a shortage. I believe that many of its customers would also understand and welcome this. I, for one, am happy to do without and am not prepared to switch to unacceptable alternatives. Hi mibio, thank you very much for your feedback. Barn eggs are not an "unacceptable option", otherwise we wouldn't use them. The hens live in littered barns with plenty of daylight, can move around freely and rest on perches. All Migros floor rearing farms also have a separate outdoor climate area (conservatory), which is also littered and where the hens can get some fresh air. There are perches in the outdoor climate area and activities such as sand baths are available. We are happy to take your input on board and I have informed the relevant department.
