Affordable, high-quality store brands are frequently out of stock for weeks at a time
Günstige und gute Eigenmarken fehlen immer wieder wochenlang
Ever since the restructuring and the sale of Migros’ production facilities, private-label products have repeatedly been out of stock for weeks at a time. Expensive brand-name products, however, are always available. Take roll-on deodorants, for example. This is a recurring issue at Aldi, Lidl, and similar stores—so why is it happening at Migros now? In the past, it was rare to find a shortage at Migros. After decades of loyalty to Migros, I’m finding myself increasingly drawn to Aldi, which offers slightly lower prices. I also have the feeling that with fruits and vegetables, the low prices come with lower quality—meaning they spoil more quickly. That’s my assessment.
