I can understand you very well. However, the production of lactose-free products incurs additional costs in production:
- Firstly, because the quantities are smaller. Producing smaller quantities is proportionally more expensive than producing large quantities.
- The production process for lactose-free products is special and more complex than for "conventional" products.
Therefore, additional costs can unfortunately not be avoided.

In my experience, the raw materials, e.g. corn grain, are almost twice as expensive as the whole grain of wheat. Rice, buckwheat etc. more than double. So it's understandable that gluten-free baked goods are more expensive. I'm glad that there's so much choice, if I need any of it, there's this.

There is also the possibility of profiting from the high Swiss price level, as well as the exploitation of fraudulent labeling that makes a product more Swiss (as in the case of dates). This is how wholesalers earn a golden nose.
