Migros' gluten-free bread leaves a somewhat mixed impression on the community here, somehow. But Jowa, the company behind this bread, also produces bread for the catering trade under the "Huttwiler" brand at its factory in Huttwil. And this bread is really delicious because it is freshly baked in a baking foil and therefore stays nice and moist. Why can't you buy this bread in Migros, but only in restaurants?

Sometimes the quantity required by Migros and the corresponding production process is a reason why the product is not an option for us. But it doesn't have to be in this case, of course.

My investigations have revealed the following:
We source all our breads in the aha! range from Huttwil. The breads from the catering trade and our breads have exactly the same recipe. The difference is the storage: breads for the catering trade are delivered frozen and baked before use. Migros breads are packaged in deep-drawn film so that customers can store the bread at room temperature at home and the bread is available more quickly when needed.
The freezing step makes the bread appear fresher and crispier - this is due to technological reasons. You can already find some aha! products in the frozen section if you would like to try them.

I always cut up the Gf bread from Migros, moisten it slightly and then pop it in the toaster. It tastes better that way than straight from the packet.

Maybe there will be more. Because the breads actually taste so much better in the restaurant.

I was recently allowed to try one of these rolls, which are only available in restaurants, and I have to agree with you. They really do taste very good.
You can actually buy the "Huttwiler" rolls in an online store that has nothing to do with Jowa or Migros. However, the packs are very large and they are delivered frozen, so they are only suitable for people who have a large freezer or for buying groups.
It would be welcome if Migros offered a few more of the delicious Huttwiler rolls in baking foil in the frozen food section - and not just two products...
