It would be cool if you could withdraw money not only with the Migros Bank card at the checkouts, but also with the Migros app (where you have also registered your bank card).
Why isn't that possible? Will it come at some point?

I don't think that would be so great. The cashiers already have enough to do with all the promotions and bags and cummulus. We have a small Migros in Zollikofen, which became even smaller after the renovation. When I imagine people standing at the checkout just to withdraw cash... (And experience shows that there are always people like that)
A no from me, thank you
Hello moz79,
I haven't invented anything new. You can already get money from the cashier with the Migros Bank card. My only question was whether this will soon also be possible with the Migros app.
Incidentally, I'm one of those customers who only use this option when they're making a purchase anyway. There's no advantage in going to the checkout just to withdraw cash, I'd rather go to the nearest ATM...
So a clear YES from me!
It is not clear to me why this should not already be possible. It makes no difference whether the QR code is scanned to pay for goods or to withdraw cash. The cashier simply has to select the cash withdrawal Migrosbank account option. I'm looking forward to Migros' answer.

From the Migros cashier's point of view, this may not make a big difference, but it certainly does from the point of view of the cash recipient (costs) and the debit card issuer (security)....
As is well known, 3 types of cards can be deposited with the Migros app - mobile payment: 1. Migros Bank debit card 2. Cumulus Master Card 3. other credit cards from VISA, Mastercard and American Express. In most cases, credit cards are deposited and the difference between Cumulus Master Card and other credit cards are the fees for cash withdrawals: In the former case, they are not applicable - in the latter case, they are quite steep.
Apart from the Migros Bank debit card, you can also withdraw cash free of charge at the M-Information with the Postfinace Card (I do it there) and have to identify myself with the PIN - but it cannot be stored in the M-App. This is probably for the same reasons why there is no TWINT app, but each bank issues its own app...

There are now 9 banks - after all, important security elements must be stored in these apps for the link to the respective bank.
Hello mittenand
Our technical expert has replied that it does not work with the M app.
Kind regards
Kathrin
Hi Kathrin, yes thanks, but I already knew that. I asked at the checkout myself.
My question was more whether Migros thinks this will be possible at some point...
Hello again KurtHasler55
Our app expert is looking into your question again.
I'll be in touch as soon as we know more.
Until then, best regards
Kathrin

So, is there any news on this in the meantime?

Hello AndiGR, I have asked the technicians. There is no change here, there are currently no plans to allow you to withdraw money with the app. Best regards, Mia

There is now the Migros credit card (no longer from Cembra, but the new one from Migros Bank itself!), with which you can now also withdraw money at the till, even if you don't have the card physically with you. It is therefore now possible to withdraw cash at the till with an iPhone/mobile. So, for me at least, it's no longer important that you can do this with the app.
