Kaufland is currently delisting many Unilever products in Germany because Unilever has wanted to increase its prices but Kaufland is not prepared to do so.
Even if Migros does not have many Unilever products, I would welcome the delisting of Unilever because of the massively higher prices compared to Germany.
e.g. Axe deodorant: DE 2.55€ Switzerland: 4.60Fr
The products are neither produced in Switzerland nor is there a value chain here.
I would welcome more aggressive pricing (Gottlieb Duttweiler legacy) and a more aggressive direction in terms of prices from Migros (as the owner of Migros).
In terms of prices, there have hardly been any price reductions in recent years. Although Migros always wants to stand up for the best prices (but I don't trust them here)

Hello EEnergy, thank you for your comment on Kaufland's discontinuation of Unilever products. Migros has been criticizing the excessive price differences for branded products compared to other countries for years. If possible, Migros will refrain from discontinuing certain products. This is because we still want to give our customers the choice of whether they want to buy such items or not.
However, this does not mean that we simply accept such price increases. On the one hand, we conduct tough but fair price negotiations with our suppliers. In the near-food sector in particular, we have been able to reduce our prices significantly in recent years. On the other hand, we also campaign politically against excessive prices from international brand manufacturers. We campaigned for an amendment to the Cartel Act, but this failed in parliament. As a result, restaurateurs, SMEs and consumer organizations launched the "Fair Price Initiative". Migros shares the concerns of the initiators, even if it is not itself represented on the initiative committee.
We can assure you that we want to offer our customers the best value for money and that we will continue to campaign for price reductions at Migros in the future. We would be delighted if we could win back your trust. Best regards, Jan
