I regularly went shopping before the stores closed on Saturdays because, on the one hand, I want to get involved against foodwast and, on the other hand, as a single mother of 4 children on the breadline, I am dependent on cheap food. I noticed immediately when Migros reduced the expiring items by only 33% instead of 50%. When I asked, they replied that they were now writing things down earlier, but only by 33%. This way, more is sold, which is in everyone's interest. I don't agree with this. Why can't Migros reduce the items that have not yet been sold by 50% or more about 2-3 hours before closing time instead of throwing them away? Coop does this, and I've been shopping more at Coop ever since.
