Hello folks,
this is interesting:
Remote-controlled: How Amazon, Google, Facebook & Co control us online
Peter Harth
The big data spies from the USA know what we are going to do online before we even realize it ourselves. The new love, the new book, the next order, whether we are creditworthy or will become a terrorist - their algorithms have long since predicted all of this. Our lives are controlled by machines. Recognize the methods of manipulation - with a look behind the scenes.
Our lives are calculated in advance - the algorithms of Google, Facebook, Amazon, Netflix & Co are literally undressing us. We are screened like at an airport scanner and don't even realize it. But the worst is yet to come: the machines are developing a life of their own. They collect data, observe, weigh things up and come to decisions - without humans being able to influence them.
There are many signs of this, such as the USA's infamous "no-fly list": anyone who ends up on this list is not allowed to enter or leave "God's own country". The decision has long been made by algorithms. A single denunciatory comment on social networks is all it takes. Whoever writes to you on Twitter or Facebook is also evaluated: if they themselves are under suspicion, you are automatically added to the list. TIDE and TSDB, the US intelligence services' large databases of suspected terrorists, have long been automatically collecting more and more information about people around the world. Only US citizens still have a certain degree of protection. Their cases are at least double-checked by hand.

Terrorism - that's a long way off, you think? Algorithms have long been everywhere and control our finances too. The nice advisor at the bank remains a slave to an automated system. He sells something that he neither understands nor controls. All securities trading has long been carried out by machines.
