Why did they change the manufacturer Gundelsheim for the pickling jars of gherkins, corn on the cob, etc.?
I love the sweet and sour taste of these products in particular, for me there was only ever this variety or none at all.
That was one reason why I went shopping at Migros.
I also wonder why such delicious products are being exchanged for absolute no-goes. Price issue? In any case, I briefly tried everything I bought from "Condy" and then threw it straight away. But thank goodness the big competitor still offers usable replacement products. Otherwise you just have to buy directly in Germany....
Even worse is the new corn kernel substitute for Condy: Fischer (Delikatessen aus Bayern) with sweetener! This flavor is a mixture between sour and tasty sweetener. An absolute no go!
These corn cobs from Fischer are a real treat ........... My kids used to eat them in jars. The jar from Fischer has been in the fridge for about 2 months. Guess how many of them they ate? 4 pieces. Everyone tried a bite and then left it.
Please put it back in the range. Raclette without the fine corn cobs is only half as good.
The corncobs were destroyed in the floods in Thailand. If we're lucky, there will be more before New Year's Eve ;-)

It is indeed as Istanbul says: around a year ago, heavy and prolonged monsoon rains flooded 58 of Thailand's 77 provinces. Among other things, the areas used to grow corn cobs were destroyed. As supplying the Thai population has priority, it was also decided to plant rice and other necessary foodstuffs for domestic consumption in the short term before export products such as corn cobs were grown again.
The high demand still cannot be met - producers, suppliers and also wholesalers and retailers are hoping that the situation will normalize soon.
I hope you have a little patience and can switch to the few alternative products available.

My family also liked these corn cobs, they say they don't like all the others. Thanks for the clarification @Frederica and Tanja, in view of this unfortunate situation in Thailand, I'm sure everyone is happy to exercise patience...
and why were the Gundelsheim gherkins taken off the shelves?
They were the best gherkins in Switzerland.
They reminded me of the big ones you used to get at the butchers.
We would also pay a higher price for them.
