An interesting idea! However, this would not save any packaging material, because edible packaging is subject to the same food law provisions / hygiene regulations as the food itself and therefore requires additional packaging. So another wrapper around the edible bowl...

My suggestion e.g.
Lasagne with edible bowl instead of cardboard bowl
must of course be packed in plastic.
Would be a saving of the cardboard bowl no more
