Disappointing answer as to why no containers for plastic packaging blisters, foils etc. for disposal

Entäuschende antwort warum keine Container für Kunststoffverpackung Blister ,Folien usw.entsorgen

Migros in Meilen has been taking back the plastic packaging for meat, salad, cold cuts etc. for about 3 months. Several customers and I realized that this container no longer exists and we thought it was a joke. When a saleswoman was asked why and since when? Answer, since yesterday and why, I got a shrug. That made us think about what this was all about, first the collection is advertised that you can hand in plastic packaging at Migros and then it is abolished out of nowhere. That's not Migros at all like you are so obsessed that you can recycle almost everything. But what do you do about it, you don't even take back your own plastic packaging. That is certainly not in your interest. So, put this plastic container back where it was. That should be a service to the customer as you would like it to be. I hope that you can put your foot down and expect a positive response. One more thing, this service should be available in every Migros. You know what happens to the plastic otherwise, it ends up back in the PET bottles. Greetings T.Stocker and other customers

Hello livesteam

Thank you for your detailed feedback on the subject of recycling and the removed containers. Off the top of my head, I can't explain this procedure either.

However, I would be happy to clarify this directly with those responsible at the store in Meilen.

Kind regards

Tanja

Hello Tanja
Thanks for the info
Hope for a positive answer soon
Greetings livesteam

Yes, abroad they even have a special waste bag for collection, which picks up all kinds of plastic, so I think it would be good if Migros would also take back these plastic items, maybe even a garbage can for cardboard. I mean, nowadays it's no longer a loss, you can make garbage bags out of the plastic or sell the "garbage", that's always worthwhile with the huge amounts of "garbage" that Migros could sell.

Hello everyone

We have carried out a pilot project with these containers at Migros Meilen and Migros Oerlikon to take back cardboard and plastic packaging. This is despite the fact that, as Migros, we are not obliged to take back this packaging once it has been taken home.

Unfortunately, the container for plastic in particular was used, i.e. misused, as a "general disposal container". For this reason, we were forced to cancel the test run.

However, it is still permitted to remove the packaging of the products immediately after shopping on site and then place them in the containers - right after the checkout.

Kind regards

Tanja

Hello
It would be desirable + exemplary (even without obligation...) to recycle plastic and not just dispose of it free of charge. This is possible, see here: www.kunststoffsammelsack.ch
