Yes, this is a very serious idea, and the reason for this idea is:
I write my shopping list on my smartphone, there are numerous applications to do this, and the other day I was shopping, of course including my smartphone, and then I dropped my smartphone on the floor during a careless movement, during this shopping I thought that it would be very practical if the shopping cart had a smartphone holder :-)

In "my" Migros there are sometimes posters "Beware of pickpockets" with a nice green snake stealing a wallet. I would NEVER put my smartphone on a holder like that: If I turn my back on the trolley because I'm going on my Saturday "Gschtungg" without a trolley, the smartphone is gone.
How about a holder for the wrist (like a wristwatch)?
That way your hands stay free and the phone doesn't fall off ;-)!
