Yes, this is a very serious idea, and the reason for this idea is:

I write my shopping list on my smartphone, there are numerous applications to do this, and the other day I was shopping, of course including my smartphone, and then I dropped my smartphone on the floor during a careless movement, during this shopping I thought that it would be very practical if the shopping cart had a smartphone holder :-)
