Hello Migros Team
The entire refrigeration system at a neighborhood Migros near where I work seems to have broken down over the weekend. This is of course very annoying and I also understand that the goods can no longer be sold.
Nevertheless, I couldn't quite understand why all the goods were thrown away pallet by pallet. It was very sad to see that so much food was simply thrown away. I can't imagine that everything was spoiled without exception. A lot of it would certainly still have been edible if it had been consumed or processed on the same day. Couldn't these goods have been given to a soup kitchen or another organization that could have sorted out and distributed the food that was still usable?
A real shame and an incredible waste....
