My partner and I both have our own Cumulus card. As we have recently started living together, we would like to have just one joint card. If I understand correctly, they cannot be "merged". Would it be possible to transfer the remaining points on one card to the other and then only use that one?

Not a good idea! It has often happened that someone has activated a digital 5x Cumulus coupon because he or she was on the way to the weekly or bulk shopping and then the coupon was redeemed in the meantime because the partner bought a bread roll. So it's better to keep both cards and benefit from more coupons! If you want to have all the blue vouchers on a single card, HE can set up in his account that the points are donated to YOUR account. This can be done in the online account.

We have been thinking in the opposite direction for some time, precisely because of the reasons mentioned by @AlMiDeCoLier.
It's not just because of the error with the 5-fold, but you can even use it twice, as well as all other points (e.g. the 200 points in the restaurant). I can't judge whether there are complications if both partners use the same Cumulus number, but for legal reasons separate twint accounts, credit cards integrated into the app, etc., because we haven't deposited anything yet and still use the "conservative method" with different credit cards in card form.
So far, I can only see one advantage of a shared Cumulus card: the Migros shopping list can be shared with all the suggestions for items already purchased and this shopping list would be particularly interesting if it can be loaded onto the scanner once. Otherwise, there are many apps from other providers that can be linked (via a shared access with the provider).
