I've been looking for a new sauce for some time now, especially during the barbecue season. Unfortunately, my beloved Kühne Chipotle Chili Sauce has disappeared from all Swiss stores. The sauce was just great. It was creamy, but not as sweet as a cocktail sauce, had a slight, pleasant heat and a subtle smoky aroma. Unfortunately, everything I've tried so far has disappointed me. Many sauces are far too sweet for me.
It would of course be great to find a similar sauce in the range. But maybe someone can recommend a suitable alternative?
I personally can't stand anything spicy (not even too many paprika chips), but my LAG likes to torture himself and would probably like a sauce like this.
I've only ever heard of Chipotle in a South Park episode :-)

Hello Tyreen,
the range of (really) hot sauces in Migros is unfortunately very limited, which also bothers me a bit. However, one extremely positive surprise I came across recently was the Hot Pepper Sauce from Heinz: https://produkte.migros.ch/heinz-sauce-hot-pepper
It really is quite spicy. I would even say surprisingly hot for the fact that Heinz is definitely targeting a mass audience. It contains habanero chilies and has a pleasant, thick consistency. But it is definitely very fruity (habanero) and slightly sweet, and not smoky like chipotle chilies.
However, in my opinion, it can be combined perfectly with a smoky BBQ sauce:
are also very smoky, although sweeter than the Bull's Eyey if I remember correctly. (Can't find a Migros products link to these right now, but have definitely bought them in Migros (possibly seasonal)).
Both of these BBQ sauces have zero heat, but precisely because the Hot Pepper Sauce from Heinz is relatively hot, it can be used to mix until the heat is right for you without completely dominating the flavor.

I myself like my hot sauces very spicy, and not too sweet either. But what I also don't like at all are those vinegar-based hot sauces (Tabasco, yuck), where the vinegar alone makes my mouth water when I add so much that the spiciness is just right for me. That's why I spent some time trying out a large part of the range of imported hot sauces available in Switzerland. Unfortunately, you won't find them in Migros, but you can get them at ChiliBaron or Hotsaucen.
So here are a few very spicy hot sauces that I like, not (too) sweet and with little vinegar flavor. But these are really very hot (one teaspoon is enough to make a whole meal very hot). However, none of these are extract sauces (yuck), they are all natural sauces with real chilies, no added capsaicin. If you are adventurous, or just want to spice up a sauce that you like the taste of but that is not spicy enough for you?
Foo Foo Mama Choo Chili: Carolina Reaper Taste: Fruity, but not sweet (rather even slightly salty), very fresh, citrus notes, slight smoky note (roasted chilies and tomatoes). Consistency: "vegetabley": Basically quite watery/thin, but with pieces of chili and tomato in it. Spiciness: Mainly in the throat, less on the tongue or lips
Spicy as hell, one of my favorite sauces.
Marie Sharp's Fiery Hot Habanero Hot Sauce Chili: Habanero (red) Taste: Very interesting and unusual taste, as the sauce is based on carrots, onions, garlic and lime juice. Fresh taste somewhere between fruity and "vegetable", slightly salty, no sweetness. Consistency: "chunky"
Rogue Moruga Blood Orange Scorpion Pepper Sauce Chillies: Trinidad Moruga Scorpion+ BhutJolokia (Ghost Pepper) + Serrano Taste: Fruity but hardly sweet, very balanced.(I no longer have these here) Consistency: Relatively thin, very even Pungency: Even (lips, tongue, throat)
