Do any of you know the Cheestrings that our children love so much? It's a piece of cheese that you can take to school as a snack and then peel off and eat individually instead of cutting - great portions and great taste. We have to buy tons of them as soon as we are in Germany ;-). Unfortunately, they never last soooo long, which is why we think it would be great if they came here too and found a place on the shelf. It doesn't have to be the same variety, but the idea is brilliant.
Something like this? https://produkte.migros.ch/mini-muuh I don't know either, but as a child there were sticks in Migros that you could pull off cheese thread by cheese thread, then the formula was changed and it no longer worked. I don't know why you liked doing that as a child but I get it😂

Hello, I would recommend "Milkana Rollo" cheese, the other two "String" "cheese" products contain melting salts, which are harmful to children's health (please google it). Rollo consists only of cheese and is therefore a recommended food.
Have you tried the Rollo? They were once reduced in price, so I like to try them out, they're disgusting. Parents who love their children don't accuse them of that, sorry about the choice of words. They were bad😂
Yes, I have tried the Rollo, in my opinion they taste similar to mini Babybel, just very mild, but children also tend to like mild cheeses. In my opinion, in this day and age (when we are so educated about health issues), parents who love children don't throw processed salts at them, it really ruins their bones from an early age.
Oops, is that so bad? I'm not familiar with melting salts and I don't like processed cheese, but I'll have to read up on exactly what it is and what the melting salt is made of. I've had processed cheese before though, I hate the sticky plastic feeling on my teeth. I hope raclette cheese doesn't have that in it😅 Thanks for telling me about it, you never stop learning.
Raclette cheese does not contain melting salt ;-). It's more likely to be found in cheese spreads, the cheese slices for toast. Yes, it's not supposed to be good for children's health, especially the melting salts / phosphates... I wouldn't give it to my child and avoid it myself as much as possible. But for a few times a year, processed cheese stuff is certainly not bad.

I also much prefer raclette cheese or the normal "real" cheese that you get in the chiller cabinet or at the cheese counter. Processed cheese isn't really my thing, but we do have it now and again, e.g. when we make burgers or similar. Like you, we generally avoid processed cheese because of the melting salts/phosphates etc. or as much as we can, but we do have it now and again, which isn't a bad thing, all in bulk.
