Just when we were delighted to read that Migros is also using Cafe Royal for its restaurants, our 2 favorite varieties are no longer on the shelves! *great disappointment
- What happened to the cafe royal Colombia? and
- Why is the popular cafe royal Vanilla not / only partially available in the smaller Migros stores?

Hello @KaffiKlatsch! Glad you're happy about the Cafe Royal in the Migros restaurants! Unfortunately, the Cafe Royal Single Origin Colombia was not particularly popular and has therefore been removed from the range. We also think this is a shame, but fortunately our range offers many alternatives :) The Cafe Royal Vaniglia is more about a space problem. As it appeals to a more specific taste, we limit ourselves to offering it in the larger Migros stores - we simply don't have enough shelves everywhere for the entire range. Hi keithjames, you probably mean in Migros restaurants or takeaways, right? Yes, that's right, the coffees now cost 30 centimes more. But there's a reason for this: the coffee beans now come from Café Royal, are certified organic and in Max Havelaar quality. This means that you can now enjoy sustainable organic coffee that has been grown without chemical pesticides and artificial fertilizers. What's more, the cups and mugs are filled more per coffee unit (except in Migros Genossenschaft Aare restaurants, where the machines were adjusted some time ago). Kind regards, Miriam
But that is no reason to increase the price and probably annoy every pensioner with a pension. A 10% increase is not small. And in my opinion there is much more foam in it. And I don't have to pay CHF 3.70 for 50% foam.

Well, let's be glad that coffee is a luxury and not a foodstuff...you could also complain at this point that luxury vacations to the Caribbean are not affordable for everyone...coffee is primarily a work drug (! Yes, coffee or caffeine is considered a psychoactive substance).

Interesting - I haven't seen the price of 3.70 anywhere in Migros...
I do know that the prices in restaurants that are open on Sundays (in Grüene, Säntispark) tend to be a bit higher.
What surprises me more are the different coffee prices for the same Royal coffee. I would understand if Türich was an expensive place, but I don't understand why people in Eastern Switzerland pay so much more than in Central Switzerland. At CHF 2.60, it's only really cheap in Ticino, but this is certainly due to the competition - Piccadilly, with service, chilled room, with Swiss-German newspaper = CHF 2.50
@wef17 The price of 3.70 for a cappuccino is correct, that's how much a Café Royal cappuccino costs in Migros restaurants and takeaways. With the changeover to Café Royal, the same prices were set throughout Switzerland (except Ticino). This also applies to the Park im Grüene and the Stänsipark. Good that there is uniformity - with the exception of the special case of Ticino, where coffee with service is probably still available for 3.xx everywhere (with the exception of certain locations in Lugano, Locarno, Ascona).
Certainly it was during the changeover phase, but I thought I saw the price of CHF 28 for a 10 ! booklet and I was more surprised at the different approach, because here it's 33 CHF for an 11er.... who does the math sees a difference of 20 Rp/coffee.
At least the prices in the Säntispark/Grüene are the same, because in the past I didn't pay with the voucher precisely because I believed that it was invalid there (as in other regions).
