Zaun decaffeinated coffee

Café décafféiné Zaun

Is Zaun ground decaffeinated coffee decaffeinated by the Swiss water process or by the liquid CO2 system, or by which other system?

Hello PrincessErika, thank you very much for your inquiry. Zaun coffees are decaffeinated using dichloromethane, which is removed after decaffeination. Once the procedure is complete, we examine the coffee to ensure that it no longer contains caffeine or other residual products. In doing so, we ensure that we always comply with the legal maximum values. Best regards, Richi

Couldn't you use a healthier method? There are other very good alternatives, including the Swiss water method. We're from this country, so it would be good to use a method developed here.

Hello PrincessErika, the relevant specialist department has been informed of your return. At present, only a small number of manufacturers process the quantities we need for decaffeination on an industrial scale. The Swiss process using water is not currently available in Europe. In Mexico, there is a supplier capable of producing large quantities. However, this alternative is neither economical nor sustainable. Best regards, Luisa
