I can hardly believe the news I read yesterday: Migros supports Toni Brunner Radio! Brunner is the second highest representative of a party that despises humanity. This party is under the control of a militiaman whose understanding of democracy is more than questionable. This decision is a PR disaster for Migros, you only have to browse through the internet forums of the news portals.

Migros does not support Buureradio, this radio station no longer exists. That's why the station is getting a new name and will be on hiatus until the end of the month (with non-stop music).
However, Migros is helping to keep a radio station with popular Swiss music alive. The program will be more varied and should appeal to a broad audience.
It is also important to know that Migros is not making a financial contribution to the new radio station, it is merely a "presenting sponsor" and makes its operation possible.

Please excuse me if I have not made myself completely clear. The annual costs for the Internet radio station are shared between the Aare Cooperative and the Federation of Migros Cooperatives. The new name of the radio and the exact program will be determined by the end of February. In contrast to the founding sponsors, the operators are now completely independent and not linked to any politicians or political parties.

I stand by my criticism, switch off and then switch on again with a new name, that looks very much like a fraudulent label. Migros should definitely keep its hands off a radio with such a background, the damage to its image is already considerable.

I have to agree with Daniel. It really looks as if Migros has rushed to the aid of Mr. T. Brunner in dire financial straits. Remember: Migros once supported Duttweiler's party, the rather left-liberal Landesring. If it now gives the impression that it is helping the right-wing conservative SVP, this is at the very least disreputable. Gottlieb Duttweiler should be turning in his grave - but his Migros has been offering him any number of reasons to do so for some years now anyway.

Our first reaction was exactly the same as Full Moon's - we could hardly believe the news and were horrified. Despite Migipedia's explanation, we still find this approach extremely clumsy. How many people get more detailed information? The damage to Migros' image could be huge. After all, it is unacceptable to support a radio station whose proximity to an anti-democratic party that plays on people's fears has been clearly proven, at least in the past. And who can judge whether this proximity will really no longer exist in the future?
We are very disappointed by Migros' lack of sensitivity.
