Bread from the previous day (box)

Brot vom Vortag (Kiste)

Bread from the previous day is often eaten away at Migros, which I think is a shame.

Both discounters (Aldi Suisse and Lidl Switzerland) sell bread at half price (which I think is great). Why can't the social Migros do this? It would also gain an advantage over Coop and would be more exemplary in my eyes.

In the fruit and vegetable department, Migros also manages to reduce its produce and offer it at a lower price (compared to Coop, which throws it away).

How does Migros Aare in particular feel about this?

Hey EEnergy

It's exciting that you bring this up today.20min just published a report today on a pilot project at Migros Lucerne:https://www.20min.ch/schweiz/zentralschweiz/story/Guenstigere-Lebensmittel-vor-Feierabend-im-Angebot-16373079

There you can use the "Too Good to Go" app to buy food at a fair price before closing time. I know it's not near you, but we're following it closely and keeping our eyes open for new, great ways to reduce food waste as much as possible. You can read about what else we do and which organizations we support here:https://generation-m.migros.ch/de/nachhaltige-migros/hintergruende/abfall-recycling/lebensmittelabfaelle.html

Hello @Dominik_Migros and @EEnergy

I think it's really good what is being done even more. And what do my neighbor, my mother and her colleagues do? They live with old working cell phones. Then there are also people in the retirement home opposite who don't even own one. Can you find a solution for the baby boomers?

Some people don't even know how to get from the groceries to the shelf. At Frisch Wäre I can't say for sure. Canned food, cat food, detergents and drinks are first brought to the Migros distribution center, then there are those who put them on the shelves.
Then there's the warehouse clerk who sets up the individual trolleys, and then the drivers come into play. They drive no telling how many kilometers to the Migros building to receive goods. Again, the food is reloaded, the Migros workers unload, and bring everything to the appropriate shelf so that we can buy our mayo, mineral, etc.

No offense to either of you, but many people just don't know that.

Let's get back to the project, I think it's great that something is being done, even if I'm still skeptical about the figures. I would also like to make a suggestion...

A pilot project in Aargau, because as far as I know AMIGOS is only running in Bern and Zurich. Only if it works.
