Hello Why did you change the format of the milk cartons? Thank you and have a nice Sunday.
Hello Why did you change the format of the milk cartons? Thank you and have a nice Sunday.
Thank you very much for your inquiry. I am pleased to inform you of the reasons for switching to "Tetra Edge": with the current recycling system, there is no significant difference in terms of environmental impact between the carton and the PE bottle. This is despite the fact that the carton is not (yet) recyclable and must be disposed of with household waste. There is a very serious public study on this subject, the link to which I'm sending you here: https://www.bafu.admin.ch/bafu/fr/home/themes/dechets/communiques.msg-id-54391.html. If, in future, beverage cartons are collected and recycled at a high rate throughout Switzerland, the environmental impact of beverage cartons will be significantly lower than that of PE bottles. It is on the assumption of such a future scenario that we have invested accordingly in a packaging plant that will enable us to reduce the ecological impact in the future. Users of the Migipedia platform choose their username themselves. If you wish to change it, you have the following options: 1. Once logged in, click on your profile image in the top right-hand corner, then select "Community profile" from the menu 2. Click on the "Edit profile" button 3. Click on the "Edit data" link 4. Modify your nickname, then save it. Best regards, Tabea

Hello, Thank you for your reply, even if it doesn't answer my question. It has nothing to do with the PE bottle. The format of the milk cartons has changed, squarer, higher. As for my username, I logged in with my Migros account (so you might as well have all my pedigree), and it was when I sent my post that I discovered that Migros had given me the username "grandma". That's quite surprising. Well, it's a good thing you're not on first-name terms with me :-) But don't waste any more time on this point, I'll go and change my profile if I feel like it. Best regards Grandma

Hello grandma, thank you very much for your message. I apologize for not answering your question. The new "Tetra Edge" packaging is becoming increasingly popular, both internationally and in Switzerland. We are aware that this does not always satisfy our customers. However, we don't have enough influence to go against this business practice and have adjusted our facilities accordingly. I hope you find this addition useful. Sincerely, Tabea

I can understand your reasons concerning the material of milk cartons (for example, organic milk in cartons rather than bottles), but you have to understand that this means a change for our garbage cans: more volume, since cartons are not recyclable! This encourages me to buy those liters of organic milk at the Coop, since there they're still (for the time being!) in recyclable bottles!
