Following the announcement of Migros' new idea to target "singles" by offering reduced-size packaging, I wanted to add a comment. Would it be possible to think about selling more products by the piece? I'm thinking in particular of chocolate branches. These (e.g. Einmalzin, Bloxxx, Mahony, etc.) are always sold in multi-packs. Classic branches (but only the larger ones) and 2-3 others are offered at the checkouts, but the assortment remains limited. The "sweet snacks" section is extremely diverse, and I think it's a shame to have to buy a multi-pack every time, as it prevents you from being able to vary the types when you live alone or are occasional consumers. So, like your suggestion of products in limited sizes, I think that selling by the piece would be a good contribution for customers! (Think, for example, of yoghurts or fruit that can be bought by the piece...) Finally, I'd add that the ecological balance would be even better because some of the packaging (that which wraps the branches together) would be non-existent and therefore saved!
