Bonus points for trial purchases

Bonuspunkte für Probeeinkäufe

I received several 200 bonus point vouchers to try out the new Subito Hot Pot range - minimum purchase Fr3.90, valid until 5.1.2014. As my own store didn't have a large selection, I looked for Hot Pots in an MMM on January 4. The till refused my vouchers - the assistant had a lot of trouble finding out why. Finally we realized that the Hot Pots were on promotion - I had to settle for 70 rappen off instead of 200 points. It seems pointless to give out vouchers that you can't use...

Is a 70 centime discount worse than 200 Cumulus points (equivalent to 2 centimes)?
You would have received the 200 points if you had bought at least CHF 3.90 worth of "Subito Hot Pot" products. You probably only bought one, and because it was on promotion, you didn't reach this minimum amount. If you had bought two, the voucher would have been usable, because the minimum purchase amount for the Hot Pot range would have been reached.

200 Cumulus points equals 2 francs, not 2 centimes!

If it was clearly written on the shelf that the products were in action, you could certainly have tried two. But at self-checkout, when scanning vouchers, you can't just get another hot pot!

As far as the points are concerned, you're right, I made a mistake in my thinking.
The fact that the promotion was not declared on the shelf was actually not ideal.
