Many people find it paradoxical that organic vegetables are packaged in plastic. The reason for this is to prevent organic produce from being contaminated by non-organic produce, but also to distinguish it from non-organic produce. Now the question is: couldn't we do it the other way round? I.e. wrap non-organic products and organic products without, so that you can finally shop organic waste-free. Lg
Just as an aside: I buy 90% conventional vegetables and I don't want them to be in plastic either. Why should buyers of conventional vegetables now lose out? Sorry, but I didn't think far enough.
Sali Grossebiofan, thank you for your thoughts. We appreciate it when our customers make concrete suggestions. But the fact is that fewer organic vegetables are being sold, so packaging organic vegetables is the obvious solution. If we were to pack conventional vegetables in plastic, we would have to use more plastic. Best regards, Silvia
