I remember about 5 years ago, Valais AOC rye bread was still available everywhere and then suddenly it was gone - when I asked for it at the time due to a lack of demand, and even the long shelf life didn't help - fresh bread always had to be on the shelves...., preferably still "warm from baking"....
But I still receive it by post and this works quite well with 2-3 week rations. I now suspect that the reason is rather the disparity between the availability of rye flour from Valais and this "addiction to freshly baked bread" among customers, because this bread was never available in Migros stores on Mondays for this reason. The bread came from Migros bakeries in Valais.
