"Organic" eggs in processed organic products

„Bio“-Eier in verarbeiteten Bio-Produkten

Dear M-Team, I was able to personally visit a so-called "organic" egg farm in Canada. What I saw there shocked me and other Swiss people. OK, North Americans may have a different idea of organic. However, according to reputable sources (such as ARD, ZDF, Die Welt etc.), even eggs under the EU organic label (factory farming with the corresponding conditions) are not really what consumers imagine organic to be. I have the feeling that even "only" free-range eggs from Swiss hens are produced under better conditions than those according to the EU organic label. They (yes, the competition has it too) have various processed organic products with eggs (mayonnaise, pasta etc.), but it says "from foreign organic production". So the egg yolk could come from the EU, North America or from the world's largest egg producer in China (certainly not much better than EU standards). I am firmly convinced that no Swiss person would call such eggs organic or have a different idea of organic animal products - even in processed products. Would it not be possible to use Swiss organic eggs or at least according to Swiss organic standards?
