Today I wanted to buy another beer radish at Migros Lenzburg. The price was the same as ever, but the size of the radishes on offer was downright cheeky. All the radishes on offer were about half the size they were some time ago. If you convert that, you get a price mark-up of +/- 100%! How can something like this be justified?

I assume that most vegetables, if not all vegetables, but also fruit, will become a lot more expensive in the near future! And for a long time!
And in some cases massively! ?
Quite simply because of the shortage of goods!
We've had a warm, sometimes occasionally hot summer so far, but the early summer and summer were also far too wet! (e.g. July, among others)
Cereals are experiencing a catastrophic harvest! In some places, bread grain cannot even be used as fodder! ?
Potatoes are rotting in the ground! The same applies to root vegetables, including radishes, carrots, etc. !
The same applies to lettuce etc. which has rotted in the fields.
Fruit will also only have a short harvest, which will result in a quantity and quality that is to be desired. ?
The size of the vegetables and fruit is also smaller, not to mention the quality.
Hobby gardeners also complain about very poor harvests!
Even the pumpkins, which like water, were too wet!
So I'm no longer surprised about smaller, more expensive vegetables!
I think we have to get through this.

Kaufland sells radishes that are a good 35 cm long and 7 to 8 cm thick for € 1.15 each. I saw them today and picked one up straight away.
