Many oranges that are sold in Switzerland are actually green. However, in order to appeal to Swiss consumers, the oranges are artificially greened using ethylene. It would be cool to sell at least some of the oranges under the title 'ungreened'. That would be good for the environment and also cheaper. lg rot8

Hello rot8 That is partly correct. At the beginning of the season, the oranges are "de-greened" as you described. From around the end of November / beginning of December, however, all the fruit on the tree turns colour and is no longer treated with ethylene. We currently have no plans to sell the oranges green. The approach is definitely exciting from a sustainability perspective. We have taken your request on board for further testing. Kind regards, Angela
