Cashless shopping carts

Bargeldlose Einkaufswagen

Nowadays you can make cashless payments in many Migros stores, not only at all the checkouts (classic, Subito and SelfScan) but also when you buy your parking ticket. The only reason I still have to carry around a fränkly or an otherwise useless template on my key ring, which is already too big as it is, is because of the shopping carts. I very much doubt that this Fränkly prevents shopping carts from being stolen. Migros would have long since switched to 50 mm coins for this purpose. I also trust the Swiss population to bring the shopping carts back to the queues without this "depot". I know that most other stores also use this depot system. But here Migros, as a modern cooperative, could put an end to this old-fashioned approach and dispense with the need for a Fränkly when customers go shopping.
