For years, Migros had been selling the Indonesian noodle dish Bami Goreng - brand Chop Stick, item no. 1585.535, imported from the Netherlands, 243 grams - in practical packs; noodles, sauce, spices, "all in one" so to speak, with the exception of the accompanying meat. This meant that guests who turned up unexpectedly could quickly be fully catered for if you also had some shredded chicken meat in the freezer. Then the recipe was changed about three years ago, so that fresh produce - vegetables - had to be bought in addition to the packs, and the taste of the dish was changed significantly, not for the better. Today I was looking for the product on the rack in Zumikon, and the store manager told me that the product had been removed from the range; they hadn't sold enough of it. It's a classic marketing mistake to change the recipe for a product that's doing well, thereby alienating customers. Who at MGB is actually responsible for such bad decisions?
